Who are the top stand up comedians? Any Guess. We conducted a survey and people chose these stand up artists to be the greatest comedians of all time.

Stand-up Comedy is one of the toughest Arts. No Comedian can be ranked among the greatest comedians if he/she is not able to connect with audience of all type and whose views on subject are impressive. The funniest comedians of all time may have been present before the TV era but here we are only going to list those comedians whose acts are available on tapes and on internet.

We might discriminate among each other on the basis of race, religion and nationality but art doesn’t discriminate. Comedy too is not just property of a particular race or country. The list of best comedians here includes all comedians ranging from Asian comedians to African American comedians to blue collar comedians.

The approach on the subject is what matters the most in comedy. People love sarcastic comedians who provide humor on real world issues. For all type of comedies one must have to be good at observations. Remember George Carlin’s Cats and Dogs stand up act – That is perfect example of observational comedy. That act alone revolutionized the stand up comedy world and comedians started researching more on their matter.

Here we have chosen 50 greatest comedians ever. These comedians are selected and ranked on the basis of voting system. Your views on the list of greatest comedians ever may differ, feel free to share your own list of greatest comedians of all time in the comment section.

  • I think that you forgot the #1 comedian of all time. How can you have a list and not have Groucho Marx on it. They guy was a film, radio and television star. An icon. This kid Louis CK isn’t even in that league. Just because stand-up wasn’t the thing in Groucho’s day doesn’t mean that you can write off the most legendary comedian of all time.

  • And how can you leave out Jack Benny, who had the greatest comic timing ever, and could draw a big laugh without saying a word.
    Or George Burns ?
    Or Red Skelton?
All those guys were way better than most of the people on your list, (And they didn’t think obscenity equalled humor)

    . . .
